Wedding Vendor Interview – florist

Finally doing this long-planned project of mine where I interview local wedding vendors and make it a blog series called ‘ Wedding Vendor Interview ‘. Today you get to meet the awesome team behind Cherry Blossom and get a chance to know more about their story and background business.

Get to know a wedding florist in Riviera Maya, Cancun – Cherry Blossom

Wedding Vendor Interview – Florist

🌼Tell us a little bit about your story and your company.

Cherry Blossom Flowers & Decor, we run as a Family Boutique Wedding workshop since 2012, owned by two businesswomen, Julieta & Sandra, that manage their time between flowers and home, we both enjoyed so much our wedding days and wish the same for all couples who decide to get married in our amazing Riviera Maya, México.

We love details, we love being inspired by our couple´s ideas, vision, style and needs and we definitely love when all our communication leads us to get to our final perfect wedding flowers and decor proposal. Our social media and catalog are based on genius ideas! Ideas from Brides, mothers, sisters, wedding planners, bridesmaids, business executives, companies, etc who have trusted us during all our trajectory, this are wonderful as initial inspiration and then use those to go beyond and start from the spontaneous, natural and fun so together we can create unique designs for our all weddings.

🌼How did you get into wedding and events industry?

Julieta has experience as a wedding planner and Sandra studied Hotel and Restaurants management, we both have been blessed to live and work at Riviera Maya for about 14 years already and after we met and started our friendship we saw a business opportunity at the wedding industry and decided to join our creativity and administration abilities into the wonderful Wedding Flower´s world. During all these years we have assisted in different conventions, training, workshops and master degrees that have benefited our business.

🌼What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding and events industry?

There are so many things we love!! but this are some of our favorites:
✔️Get to the Wedding Venues!: Riviera Maya has so many gorgeous wedding scenarios that every time we arrive to each one for the big day, we feel nothing than gratitude for so much magnificence.
✔️Meeting the bride!! this is one of the highlights of each wedding day, we’ve met so many nice brides during these years and enjoyed our communication, that we even miss our emails once the wedding has passed, then receiving their gallery is just amazing, thanks to all of you!!
✔️Custom weddings! yes, please! Let’s an incursion into the new designs and create both unique versions for everything, wedding ceremony, bouquets, reception ideas we have so much to offer.
✔️Teamwork! : there are so many great vendors in the area, so many professionals that make everything possible, meeting them and collaborating with them is always enriching.
✔️Reviews! : this is a true gift for us, each word counts and it’s cherished, please review your vendors´ work, you give us the chance to improve and you give us the opportunity to keep doing what we love the most.

🌼What is your preferred wedding season and why? If you could pick one seasonal flower, which one would it be and why?

January-April, weather is gorgeous not too warm, not too cold… July´s favorite flowers are tulips and seasonal are ranunculus (currently deciding between cymbidium orchids too), Sandra´s favorites all year are dark red black magic roses and King proteas (we remember when nobody wanted Proteas for being too exotic) and seasonal would be coral peonies.

🌼What is your favorite wedding color trend?

Neutrals + local greenery

🌼As a vendor, what has been your biggest wedding day challenge?

One of our biggest challenges are getting all requested flowers for all weddings, sometimes just for making the bridal bouquet we have used 6 different flower suppliers, and all sent from different cities in the country! we remember this day we drove to the airport to pick up the flowers for the bridal bouquet with only a few hours left for the ceremony to start, in the end, everything resulted perfectly. There are a lot of challenges in this industry, we have learned a lot through past experiences, we are in contact with wonderful people that review our work and leave os useful feedbacks and we truly appreciate all this.

🌼What piece of advice would you give to future brides and grooms?

When talking about flowers, we will always suggest the ones that work the best with our tropical weather, there are gorgeous blooms that would not make it in our warm Caribbean land. The second advice is to take a minute to enjoy your flowers, to look over all the wedding and be proud of your hard work and detail planning your big day, it is just a few hours to enjoy months of planning, you totally deserve to enjoy this moment together. The last advice that we are learning during these challenging weeks is that everything will pass, everything will be overcome and positive-stress free vibes make everything easier.

Warm regards from all Cherry Blossom Team
