This white, beautiful Catholic chapel ‘Nuestra Sra. Del Carmen’ or in English The Parish of Our Lady of the Carmen is located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, in the State of Quintana Roo. The Parroquia and the Chapel of Nuestra Señora del Carmen are the best known in Playa del Carmen, which have become a point of reference both for tourists, destination weddings and for people who live in this city. The Parrish has a small park with large palm trees and usually, some local vendors are present to sell local sweet treats. This is an ideal place for larger Catholic Wedding Ceremonies.

San José Obrero Parrish located in Puerto Morelos

San Jose, the Roman Catholic church in Puerto Morelos, is based on the prime town square.  It serves as the cornerstone of the local Puerto Morelos community with many town events held at the church. The village of Puerto Morelos is, to a great extent, centered on this landmark cornerstone. For over a century, the bell tower of Parroquia San José Obrero has overlooked the town square of Puerto Morelos. In Spanish, the name of this Roman Catholic church means the Parish Church of St. Joseph the Worker. The style of the church is unique and filled with vibrant colors with a part of Mexican influences. Right outside, there is a park with a fountain surrounded by trees and blooming flowers, and it’s a perfect place to take wedding photos.

Xcaret Park Catholic Wedding Chapels

In the middle of the lush jungle and the sparkling shores of the Mexican Caribbean, there is a unique place in the world, called the Xcaret Park. It is located in the Riviera Maya, just south of Playa del Carmen.  A Majestic Park to the sea that gives you the opportunity to know and enjoy the natural beauty of the Riviera Maya and the Mayan heritage, culture, and traditions of Mexico. There are two Catholic churches located in Xcaret Park.

Capilla de Guadalupe

On one side of the Hacienda Henequenera, is the Chapel of Guadalupe. It is characterized by its beautiful altar set in the middle of cenote at the base of a Ceiba tree. This tree is known as the “tree of life” to the Mayans which serves as a ladder to reach the heavens. In addition, cenotes are a portal to the underworld and a source of channeling gods and they also take a special part of the local culture. It has a neoclassical architecture of the twentieth century and different images of the Virgin and a carved wooden trunk with a height of 12 meters picture.

St. Francis of Assisi Chapel

At 37 meters above sea level is the chapel dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, for his teachings to the care and preservation of plants and animals. The Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi has a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea. In other words, is the perfect place for a wedding with a wonderful sea view on the highest point of Xcaret park. It is constructed of all natural materials of stone and wood.
