Riviera Maya Wedding Photographer – Vendor Interview

Here we are with another wedding vendor interview. This time I interviewed the one and only Abi & Gon from Luxart Wedding Studio, a well known Riviera Maya wedding photographer duo. We have worked together on so many weddings and every time we have the best time. Take a look at their story, how everything started for them, what are some of their favorite things to photograph at a wedding, and plus more.

GET TO KNOW LUXART STUDIO – RIVIERA MAYA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Tell us a little bit about your story and your company.

Hi there! We’re Abi & Gon from Luxart Wedding Studio! Welcome to the Tribe! Originally we come from a small town called Mar de Ajó right on the cold shore of Buenos Aires, Argentina and we made it to Riviera Maya like backpackers in 2015. We’re the destination wedding photographers duo behind the brand (and partners in life). We can describe ourselves as travelholics, wild hearts, animal and red wine lovers, oh! And parents of 2 little chihuahuas. Trough Luxart we always wanted to share our way on how we see the world and be able to play our role as wedding photographers who make the best special memories. Above all, we love making new friendships every time we travel over the globe, especially when we got the chance of holding our cameras and…. click!

How did you get into the wedding and events industry?

Our journey in the wedding business started from scratch! Remembering our first wedding ever! Our dear friend Ceci who’s been a wedding photographer for ages invited us to join her. Back then we didn’t have a real pro-gear, but the photos turned out so nice. We could feel the “spark” being barefoot on the sand, enjoying like everyone else, dancing… Connecting with the couple and everyone else around. We came home, and we knew it, it’s right there, we wanted to feel that energy and be part of it forever! So that’s our story on how we got into the wedding and events industry.

What do you love most about photographing weddings?

Meeting people and making friends all over the world is what we love the most!! Sharing intimacy with people during getting ready or while a father-daughter first look is happening… so amazing! Being able to share through our photos how we see the world, the colors, how we feel about every love story, it’s a true blessing.

How would you describe your photography style?

WILD HEARTS! Fearless of being silly and fun, adventurous, happy and sad at the same time. Natural color lovers + landscapes catchers!

What are some of your favorite things to photograph at a wedding?

Oh boy, what a hard question to answer… EVERY PART IS OUR FAVORITE! Since everything has a special meaning. I’d say emotions! When you capture a candid smile, a tight hug or a tear of joy… YES! That’s our favorite ever!

Do you photograph any other special moments besides weddings? Like engagement shoots, bridals, trash the dress.

We love shooting every kind of moments besides weddings. We can’t wait to have more and more wild heart couples that take risk and want to explore new places!

Where is the most interesting or unique place you’ve photographed a wedding?

We had the chance of visiting such amazing places throughout the years! As destination wedding photographers we are open to new experiences, always wanting to keep moving and trying additional things. But if we have to pick one, we’d say a CENOTE. If you haven’t been into a Mayan cenote before, that’s definitely a MUST-HAVE spot. Put it in your photos bucket list!

3 must-capture moments for every wedding?

1. Ceremony (any kind) 2. Couple shooting 3. Family and friends having fun!

As a photographer, what has been your biggest wedding day challenge?

Well… every wedding is a new challenge for us. You have to find a way of connecting with people and the environment. Creating an atmosphere where everyone feels invited and comfy. We guess the most challenging thing we have to face when we step into wedding is breaking the ice, making everybody have fun and fell comfortable in front of us.

What advice would you give to couples looking for a wedding photographer?

JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART! Remember that we’re talking about special moments in your life. It’s a timeless memory so definitely follow that hunch and pick the photographers who really share your style and whom you can be yourself with!

Thank you Luxart Wedding Studio for being a part of my wedding vendor interview. I’m so excited for our future adventures and can’t wait for them to begin! Here is to another year full of weddings and happy memories.
