Jardin del Mar Catholic Indian Destination Wedding
Even though Luke and Shilpa lived in different countries (she in Canada and he in the USA), they did a long-distance relationship for a few years. Finally, after dating online for a long time, they had their first date, would say an ‘official’ first date, in Mexico and therefore this made their decision easier for them to have their lovely wedding in this marvelous destination – Jardin del Mar in the Riviera Maya.
They reached out to me and together we planned their visit to the Riviera Maya. Our first meeting was in June 2019, and we had a fun weekend. We spent the time with a lot of awesome vendors while doing menu tasting, scouting wedding venues and visiting potential churches in the Riviera Maya and Cancun, so they could pick the perfect location for them to tie the knot.
Fast forward to 2020, Luke and Shilpa officially got married on January 10th at the beautiful church Cristo Resucitado in the Hotel zone by their Indian Catholic Priest. Before their ceremony, the soon to be wife and husband, had their first look in the wonderful secret garden of the church. During the ceremony, the peaceful music, played by the piano player and followed by the wonderful singer made the moment such a special memory for everyone. Coming from their Indian background, they did a few of their traditions. The ceremony was Like the unity candles lighting (done by their mothers), prayers in Hindu and English and the Sari tradition. After the ceremony, the newlyweds walked down the aisle with their favorite song “ Viva La Vida”.
After they took group photos and family photos in the church, Luke and Shilpa, together with their bridal party, got in the Party Limo to have a ‘little’ party time before they entered their reception at their venue Jardin del Mar. All the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour on the beach and followed the reception inside the palapa. The bride and groom integrated various of their Indian traditions, such as Nellum Neerum, lighting the lamp and Kacha Koddukal. Bride Shilpa and her friends performed a surprise Calgary dance, which led to other traditional dances with the guests. Their wedding cake was designed by Pasteleria la Migaja, and they served a delicious Caribbean buffet by the best Chef Gourmet Soberanis. Everyone had fun dancing on the golden infinity dance floor until the end of the night.
The photo gallery captured by Paradise Photo Studio showcases the beauty and all the traditions of their special wedding day. My team, Paradise Weddings and Events, and I are so grateful that we had a chance to be a part of Luke and Shilpa’s wedding day. Lots of love, Anna.
